The Queen Mary Hotel C
Docked in Long Beach, CA since the sixties, the Queen Mary was sailing at the same time as the Titanic. The accessible rooms are incredibly spacious with a really large tub/shower, ample grab bars, shower bench and hand-held showerhead. (I don't know if they have rooms with roll-in showers.) The staff is extremely helpful. The ship is restored to it's original glory - quite beautiful.
The ship is huge and multi-story. The elevators, like the rest of the ship, were built in the 30's and they are TINY. A scooter user just fits alone. The adjoining exhibition hall has 12 steps at the entrance. People who couldn’t walk had to get a security guard to escort them on the freight elevator, which was so noisy that all events on stage had to stop since nobody could hear the PA system over it. The exhibition hall is also multi-story; the interior elevators were spacious but
also horribly slow. A night here is likely to cost around $150.
