Favorite Accessible Chains

Often it's easier to find restaurant and hotel chains that are accessible. This may be because many chains are in facilities that were built since the ADA went into affect and chains are run by large companies more likely to conform to the rules. Another good thing about chains is that they tend to be pretty consistent from one end of the country to another. If you find a hotel that fulfills your accessibility needs, chances are other hotels in that chain will work as well.

Marriott
The most accessible hotel room I've ever stayed in was a TownePlace Suites in New Hampshire. I have stayed in higher end Marriotts that were equally accessible. There are many hotel brands under the Marriott umbrella, and though there is a range in quality, they seem pretty consistent in accessibility.

McDonalds
If you're looking for an accessible restroom on a long drive, keep an eye out for the golden arches. I've never come across an inaccessible McDonalds. And they have the best french fries around.

La Quinta
This hotel chain tends to vary in quality - decor, furnishings, cleanliness - but they're generally reliable on accessibility and affordability.

Holiday Inn Express
Sometimes the nightly price tag exceeds $100, but the hotel decor is current, overall quality and cleanliness is high, and accessibility is dependable.
