Please send reviews for locations that you recommend for accessibility. (Compiling a list of locations that are not accessibe would simply take too long.)

Be as specific as possible.
Include information about any special arrangements that improved your experience, approximate dates of travel and what it cost. It helps to know a little about your specific special needs and how they were addressed.

Provide contact information for the business you review.
I can send them a letter to notify them of their rating on this site and let them know what changes they can make to improve their rating. If they make improvements, I will update the review.

Accessibility on a Budget

Why is affordability important?

It shouldn't be more expensive to travel when you have accessibility concerns. While it is often easier to find an ADA compliant resort vacation, it gets more difficult when searching for reasonably priced accommodations. That's why The Accessible Travel Guide will focus reviews on affordable locations.

How do I find the best deal?

Sites like hotels. com, orbitz.com, travelocity.com and others will help you find deals. However, since none of these sites consider the concerns of disabled travelers, you will want to call the hotel directly as well to assure they have reserved an accessible room that works for you.

A Note to Businesses

Why should you comply with the ADA?

Besides the fact that it's the law and failure to follow this law can result in costly lawsuits or fines of up to $55,000 from the Justice Department, it can actually be to your advantage to make your business ADA compliant.

People with disabilities are loyal to businesses that address their needs. They're often repeat customers when they find hotels where their comfort and safety are taken care of and they can just have a good time. They pass along good experiences to other potential customers. And when groups are traveling, it's the person with accessibility concerns who picks the destination.
